Named for its ghostly white finish – a first for SpeedKore – the bespoke Charger features a full carbon-fiber body, floor and wheel tubs crafted and cured in-house using SpeedKore-designed aerospace-grade carbon fiber. All of which is mounted to a custom SpeedKore chassis for modern performance and dynamic handling.
“Ghost represents the evolution of its predecessors and builds on SpeedKore’s mission to fabricate the most advanced 1970 Dodge Charger in the world,” said Jim Kacmarcik, president and owner of SpeedKore, a Kacmarcik Enterprises Company. “Our goal is to meld timeless design, advanced composites and reliable performance to redefine what the American muscle car should be.”
EXTERIOR
The carbon-fiber bodywork greatly lowers the Charger’s center of gravity, and the CAD designed SpeedKore perimeter frame conceals the fuel and oil lines within the frame rails to improve both aesthetics and safety. The EVOD machined, grille center is milled from billet aluminum before being Cerakoted in a black finish and fitted with a set of custom LED projector headlights from Dapper Lighting and JW Speaker. That detailing is continued with machined aluminum brightwork. The profile reveals shaved rain gutters, flush-mounted glass and trim less glass to create an elongated greenhouse that allows the Charger’s lines to flow uninterrupted. A SpeedKore carbon fiber taillight panel nicely complements the Charger’s time-honored “Coke bottle” contours.
Interior
Inside the cabin, the extensive detailing continues with a custom carbon-fiber dash, door panels and rear interior quarter panels. The seats feature carbon-fiber backs and custom leather by The Auto Alliance, while gauges from Classic Instruments complete the melding of classic Mopar and modern performance. A custom SpeedKore center console and 2,000-watt Bluetooth-driven audio system from KICKER Audio finish the interior experience.
Wheels & Chassis
The 4x2-inch steel chassis connects to a 14-point roll cage, which ensures three-dimensional rigidity and allows
for a wider track and longer wheelbase to sharpen handling dynamics further. An Ididit steering column and Woodward steering rack add agility, while Penske dual-adjustable coilovers ensure composure. All this rides on a Detroit Speed double A-arm front suspension and custom four-bar diagonal link rear suspension by SpeedKore. Stopping power is provided by Brembo six-piston calipers that clamp down on 14-inch rotors up front and dual Brembo four-piston calipers at the rear to bring the Charger to a quick halt. Custom HRE 19x9 inch front and 20x12-inch rear wheels wrapped in 265/35ZR19 and 345/30ZR20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires complete the setup.
Powertrain
Power comes from a re-worked Dodge 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 delivering over 700 horsepower to the rear wheels via a TREMEC TR-6060 six-speed manual transmission that routes power through a Driveshaft Shop carbon-fiber driveshaft and Strange 9-inch rear end. The supercharged V8 features a one-off cold-air intake and breathes through custom SpeedKore-fabricated four-into-one headers and exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers.
