“Evolution” earned the name by becoming the most advanced 1970 Dodge Charger in the world thanks to a complete carbon-fiber body structure. The initial order was to expand on our work with its predecessor “Tantrum” by creating a timeless, lightweight and exceptionally fast Charger that utilized more of SpeedKore’s advanced composite works. We delivered. From the roof to quarter panels, fenders to doors, trunk to hood, “Evolution” established as a new paradigm of American muscle. It won the prestigious Goodguys Gold Award at SEMA 2018, the world’s premier event for automotive specialty products, and has been featured in media outlets across the globe.

EXTERIOR

The exterior is rendered entirely of carbon fiber, including the front fenders, doors, rear quarter panels, roof, hood, front and rear bumpers valances, and more. “Evolution” has a clear-coat finish to ensure durability.  What isn’t carbon fiber on the exterior is billet aluminum, machined in the SpeedKore headquarters in Grafton, Wisconsin.

Interior

The transmission tunnel trussing is as functional as it is decorative, supporting the billet seat bases. The cabin seamlessly blends classic aesthetics with modern amenities and features a SpeedKore custom-fabricated steering wheel, door panels, dashboard, center console, steering column, pedal assembly and Classic Instruments gauges.

Wheels & Chassis

The lightweight body sits on a custom 4x2-inch steel perimeter box frame that was CAD designed and fabricated by SpeedKore. It mounts the HEMI engine and drivetrain, providing suspension pick-up points for the coilovers at each corner and the rack and pinion steering. Aluminum was used for the floor, firewall, CNC-cut and hand-formed transmission tunnel, as well as the radiator shroud. There is also a custom 14-point roll cage to add three-dimensional rigidity, while the fuel and oil lines are concealed in the frame rails for safety and aesthetics. SpeedKore worked closely with Brembo engineers to create a balanced system using Brembo six-piston GT monobloc front calipers and four-piston rears, with 15-inch drilled and vented rotors at both ends. The suspension uses Penske 7500 series double-adjustable coilovers. The 19x9-inch front and 20x12-inch rear HRE S101 wheels are wrapped in 245/35R19 front and 345/40R20 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires.

Powertrain

Power comes from Dodge’s formidable 6.2-liter Demon engine modified for increased performance. The supercharged V8 features a smaller drive pulley, custom software controls, larger fuel injectors and a one-off SpeedKore cold-air intake. The result is a dyno-proven 966 horsepower at the rear wheels. The Demon breathes via stainless-steel SpeedKore headers and a complete exhaust system utilizing SLP mufflers. The engine is also fitted with a Dailey Engineering dry sump, upgraded oil cooler and Saldana radiator.“Evolution” uses a Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual transmission that routes power through a Driveshaft Shop carbon-fiber driveshaft and Strange 9-inch rear end.
